Behaviour at Oakleaf
Oakleaf Primary’s behaviour procedure aims to create a positive, safe and supportive environment for all learners. By focusing on empathetic and proactive strategies, we can work together to support every learner in reaching their full potential.
Our behaviour procedure encompasses our school attributes: Ambitious; Compassionate; Community Focused.
We aim to create a supportive environment within which our learners feel happy, safe and secure, and where every member of our school community feels valued and respected. We have the ambition that every learner will become a positive, responsible, courageous and kind citizen for the future. We achieve this by nurturing a love of learning through: being inclusive, maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment, and by securing high-quality teaching and learning through the delivery of a challenging and engaging curriculum.
A consistent behaviour approach can be successfully implemented if there is an effective partnership between everyone associated with Oakleaf Primary School. This involves teachers, teaching assistants, mid-day supervisors, office staff, learner, parents, carers, governors all working together to create a safe, calm school where purposeful learning can take place.
Promoting Positive Behaviours
At Oakleaf Primary, we understand that learners need to be taught, retaught and frequently reminded of our Community Expectations and that behaviour is a form of communication. We recognise the need for consistency in our approach and strive to balance that with the flexibility to differentiate approaches according to individual, group or class need.
